Vacancies: Vice Chancellors — Public Sector Medical Universities in Punjab (Apply by 2026-07-20)

Issuer: Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Government of the Punjab. Applications are invited for the positions of Vice Chancellor for multiple public sector medical universities in Punjab.

Eligibility (summary): MBBS degree (minimum second division) or equivalent minimum Level-III medical qualification (e.g., FCPS, MD, MS) or PhD in basic medical sciences from an institute/university recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council; at least ten years as a Professor in a medical institute/university recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council; minimum twenty publications in indexed medical journals recognized by the Higher Education Commission or Pakistan Medical & Dental Council; candidate must not be more than seventy years of age on the last date of submission.

Tenure & Terms: Appointment shall be for four (4) years (non-extendable) and the Vice Chancellor shall serve during the pleasure of the Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor shall not hold any paid or unpaid post (administrative/academic/honorary) in any organization during the term, shall not undertake paid academic/clinical assignments in the university and its attached hospital, and shall not undertake private practice inside or outside the premises. Application instructions: Applications must be submitted on the prescribed proforma accompanied by required documents. Submission requires a No Objection Certificate (NOC), No Enquiry Certificate (NEC) and No Due Certificate (NDC) from the current employer. Applications must clearly state “Application for the Position of the Vice Chancellor of public sector medical universities.” Only eligible/short-listed applicants will be called for interview.
