National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) invites applications for the position of Unit Head – CBA Development (VP) in the Information Technology area based in Karachi. The role reports to the Wing Head – CBA Development and requires strong software development experience for financial/core banking applications.

Minimum QualificationsMinimum Bachelor's degree in IT / Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent; or Master's in IT / Computer Science or equivalent from an HEC-recognized local or international institution. Relevant certifications preferred.
ExperienceMinimum 8 years in software development of financial and/or banking applications. Experience with Core Banking Applications of FIS profile will be given preference.
Key Technical Skills Java / J2EE / Spring MVC / MUMPS / Web-based applications; C++ / OOP concepts; Eclipse / NetBeans; Tomcat / WebSphere / GlassFish; .NET / C# / Visual Studio (3.5+); Oracle / SQL Server / JDBC / RDBMS concepts; agile methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence); version control (SVN/TFS/GIT); strong communication and teamwork skills; understanding of OS, networking and security.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software developers and deliver solutions on Core Banking applications.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentor staff and manage development & deployment of new applications, systems and software.
  • Translate business requirements into product design and develop or modify application logic.
  • Code, test, debug, document, integrate and maintain software applications; provide production support.
  • Develop technical specifications, test plans and quality assurance procedures; implement process improvements and metrics.
  • Recommend reuse or development of code; perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Employment Type & TermContractual basis for three years (may be renewed at Management's discretion). Compensation and benefits per Bank policy.
