Issuer: Project Implementation Unit (PIU), Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). Purpose: Expression of Interest (EOI) for selection of an Individual Consultant (Software Engineer) under the Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Project (IFRAP) / Modernization of Hydromet Services of PMD in Pakistan (MHSP). | Software Engineer (Individual Consultant) | At least a Bachelor's degree (preferably Master’s) in one of: Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Computational Science. | Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible professional experience in software engineering, systems integration and digital solution development. Demonstrated experience in software architecture/enterprise application development and integration; Linux OS, databases and server administration; cloud computing, virtualization and containerized environments; API development, middleware and enterprise interoperability; software implementation, systems integration, QA, technical testing and user-acceptance support; data governance, information security, backup/disaster recovery and business-continuity arrangements. Experience with scientific, meteorological, hydrological, environmental or other mission‑critical operational information systems is highly desirable. Strong technical documentation skills required. | Full-time contract basis with PIU, PMD, Saidpur / Islamabad. Consultant will be employed on contract and based at PIU PMD, Islamabad. |
