Independent System & Market Operator (ISMO) (Guarantee) Limited invites applications for the post of Chief Internal Auditor on a contract basis. ISMO seeks an experienced, qualified accounting professional to lead internal audit, compliance and risk assurance functions for Pakistan's power system and electricity market.

Key responsibilities
  • Evaluate accounting, financial, credit and other operational activities as an independent appraisal function.
  • Review and appraise adequacy and application of accounting, financial and operational controls.
  • Formulate internal audit programs covering all aspects of financial transactions.
  • Develop and lead a competent internal audit team and discharge obligations of their positions.
  • Maintain liaison with external and commercial auditors; coordinate with Audit Committee and Board on special audits and investigations.
  • Evaluate design and effectiveness of compliance functions.
Eligibility / Qualifications
  • Member of a recognized body of professional accountants: CA/CPA/ACMA/ACCA/MBA (Finance) from a reputed local or international university/institute.
  • Minimum 12 years of post-qualification relevant experience, including at least 5 years in senior management or executive-level roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in auditing and risk management, designing internal control procedures, and compliance in public/private sector with an understanding of governance, risks and controls (especially in SOEs or public sector projects).
  • Must meet Fit & Proper criteria as defined under Schedule-IV of the State-Owned Enterprises (Governance and Operations) Act, 2023.
